Dr. Naeema Burgess has over two decades of experience working with diverse populations across a range of settings. Her experience is vast with the developmental process of the person – having trained in and worked with people from infants and toddlers to the geriatric populations.  She has served populations that are typical, developmentally disabled, and psychiatric in multiple settings. Her experience stretches from birth to the geriatric population and her expertise lies within autism, behavior challenges, sensory challenges, AD/HD, neurodevelopment, neurological supports, a WHOLE person approach, empowerment, spiritual coaching, autism curriculum design, and parental coaching. Dr. Burgess earned her MS in School/Community Psychology from The College of New Rochelle in 2007, Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Capella University in 2015, completed Residency in ANIC, LLC private practice with exposure to working with clients in Bellevue Hospital and NYC DOE, became a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of School Neuropsychology in 2019, and is currently training to become a Diplomate of QEEG (neurophysiology). She has conducted ABA therapy since 2007, quickly gained skills and became a leader in her field as a supervisor supervising a case load of 8 therapists conducting ABA therapy from 2008-2014.  She also has worked consulting and providing program supervision for children on the Autism Spectrum in homes, schools, has contracted in school districts and regions for schools and the community for over 15 years. Dr. Burgess has conducted research on Autism in the African American community and is highly sought after and chosen to assess those that may be considered for having autism spectrum disorder within the education setting using appropriate measures to include being well-versed in using the ADOS-II.  She is skilled in training staff and family members to understand autism, emotional disturbances, behaviors, effective treatments and how to help them to make progress in various settings. She has a passion to educate families and help children to make progress.  In educating their families, children make better progress, as family members become their number one clinicians and advocates.  Dr. Burgess is currently certified to conduct psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations in NY and CT.   With her vast wealth of experience stretching from the East to West coast of America, she has combined her passion for her expertise and coined, The Giving Hope S.O.B.E.C.A. Approach (The S.O.B.E.C.A. Approach) while providing an online platform for educating, coaching, and advocating.  Not only does she focus on the child, but she also focuses to empower women that have a need for support and learning their worth, as well as disadvantaged youth and families. With what God has given her, she continues to serve and grow as a professional daily.
